Installing the Linux Client

In order to access PowerChurch Online, you need to have a small piece of software installed on your local machine.

RedHat/Fedora

  1. Click here to download ids-client.rpm. When prompted, choose to save it to a convenient place on your hard drive
  2. Install the native Linux Client with the following command (as root):
        rpm -Uvh ids-client.rpm
  3. Run the native Linux Client with the following command:
        ids
  4. When prompted for a server name, enter "apps.mypowerchurch.com" (without the quotes).
  5. It is recommended that you check the option for "Create desktop shortcut for the specified server."
  6. Connect.
  7. When prompted for a User name and Password, enter those supplied to you by PowerChurch Software.

Debian/Ubuntu

  1. Click here to download ids-client.deb
  2. Install the new .deb package.
        sudo dpkg -i ids-client.deb
  3. Run the native Linux Client with the following command:
        ids
  4. When prompted for a server name, enter "apps.mypowerchurch.com" (without the quotes).
  5. It is recommended that you check the option for "Create desktop shortcut for the specified server."
  6. Connect.
  7. When prompted for a User name and Password, enter those supplied to you by PowerChurch Software.

You may receive a message stating that "asp cannot be found." If so, just bypass the message and enter the server name shown above.
